Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 28, 2026
1. Introduction
Zogiro ("we", "us" or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") explains how we collect, use, store, share and protect information when you visit the website zogiro.com (the "Site") and when you use the software products we publish (the "Products"), and describes the rights and choices available to you.
This Policy applies to the Site and to all Products we publish. Where the licence terms accompanying a Product address the processing of information, they are consistent with this Policy; in the event of any inconsistency, this Policy prevails.
2. Information we collect
Site access information. The Site is a static website. It sets no cookies and uses no third-party analytics or advertising services. When handling a request, the server records a standard access log consisting of the requested address and time, the HTTP status code, the browser identification (User-Agent) and the source IP address.
Product operation information. Products run locally on your device and require no registration or sign-in. A Product's functional data and settings are stored in local folders on your device: usually the application data folder of the current Windows user, and for Products that run as a system service also the machine-wide application data folder. This data is not uploaded to our servers. Where a Product offers an update check, it only requests the public release manifest from zogiro.com, and that request carries no identifier.
Anonymous usage statistics. Some Products send anonymous usage statistics to zogiro.com so that we can understand how features are used, how they perform and where compatibility problems occur. Usage statistics are limited to the following: the product version and release channel, the Windows version, the processor architecture and the system locale; an installation identifier and a session identifier, both generated randomly by the Product and not derived from any hardware serial number, account or device identifier; and aggregate counts such as how many times each feature was used, bucketed operation timings and the state of settings. Usage statistics never include content you enter, edit or save, file names or paths, the names or window titles of other programs, account information, hardware identifiers, IP addresses or geographic location.
Information you provide. When you email support@zogiro.com, we receive your email address and display name, the content of your message and any files you attach. When you report a problem through a platform channel such as an app store review or the Steam Community, we receive the content you provide there; these channels are operated by the respective platforms, whose handling of information is governed by their own privacy policies.
3. How we use information
We use the information described above solely to operate and maintain the Site and the Products; to diagnose faults, prevent abuse and keep the service secure; to understand how Product features are used in order to improve the Products; to respond to your feedback and requests; and to comply with legal obligations.
We do not use this information for advertising, profiling or personalised recommendations, do not combine it with data from other sources, and do not make automated decisions based on it that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.
4. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell, rent or otherwise provide your information to third parties, except in the following circumstances:
- Service providers. The Site and the statistics service are hosted on Alibaba Cloud servers, and the support mailbox uses Alibaba Cloud's enterprise email service. Product installers offered for direct downloading are stored and delivered by Cloudflare; requests for them are handled by Cloudflare's network nodes, which may be located outside the People's Republic of China. These providers process information only to the extent necessary to provide their services and are bound by their own privacy policies and data processing terms.
- Distribution platforms. When you obtain a Product through a platform such as the Microsoft Store or Steam, your account, purchase and payment information is processed independently by that platform under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your personal information from the platform.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information where required by law, legal process or a competent authority.
5. Storage and retention
The Site and the statistics service run on servers located in the People's Republic of China (Hangzhou, Zhejiang), and messages in the support mailbox are stored on Alibaba Cloud servers in the People's Republic of China. If you visit the Site, use a Product or email us from another country or region, the information described above is transferred to and stored in the People's Republic of China.
Access logs are retained for 30 days and deleted automatically thereafter. Raw usage statistics are retained for 12 months from receipt and deleted in monthly batches thereafter; daily aggregates, which contain no installation identifiers, are retained for 36 months. Source IP addresses used for rate limiting are retained for no more than 24 hours and are never stored together with statistics records. Server data is backed up daily, and at most 14 backups are retained. Support emails are retained only for as long as necessary to handle your request and any follow-up, and you may ask us to delete our correspondence at any time.
Data that a Product stores on your device is under your control, and its retention is not affected by us.
6. Security
We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the information, including: all transmission to the Site and the statistics service uses HTTPS; the statistics service accepts only data in a fixed format and no free text; and access to servers and databases is limited to the personnel required for maintenance.
7. Your rights and choices
Local data. You may view, modify or delete the data a Product stores on your device at any time. When a Product installed from an app store is uninstalled, its local data is removed together with the package; Products installed directly offer the option to delete user data during uninstallation.
Usage statistics. Deleting the statistics subfolder within a Product's local data folder removes both the installation identifier and any unsent records; the Product then generates a new random identifier that cannot be linked to earlier records.
Statutory rights. To the extent provided by applicable law, you have the right to access, copy, rectify, erase and restrict the processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent, and you may make a request as described in section 10. Usage statistics contain no information that identifies you, so we cannot match them to a specific person or device and therefore cannot act on individual requests for access, rectification or erasure of usage statistics; clearing the local statistics identifier severs the link to existing records. Access logs are deleted automatically after the period stated in section 5.
8. Minors
The Site and the Products are intended for the general public, are not directed at minors, and do not collect information that could identify a person's age or identity. If you are the guardian of a minor and believe that we have collected a minor's personal information, please contact us as described in section 10 and we will address the matter promptly.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The updated Policy will be published on this page with a revised effective date, and we will give prominent notice on the Site of any material change. Changes that expand the scope of information collected take effect only with new Product versions and do not affect versions already installed.
10. Contact us
If you have any questions, comments or requests regarding this Policy or our information practices, please email us at support@zogiro.com.
